More reader advice: the Pluto square Pluto transit

roth

Lynn, per your recent post you wrote: “Pluto transits can be devastating periods of loss, but they can also be times when we discover our latent strengths and emerge into great periods of personal power as we see here.” I currently am experiencing Pluto conjunct my Ascendant and Pluto square Pluto transits, both lasting through about the end of this year. I just entered into a major dispute with a colleague that may turn into a legal battle. What should I look at in my chart for signs of where […]

Jupiter in Leo, July 16 2014 to August 11 2015

Sun Lion

Jupiter is the biggest planet in our natural solar system, and it radiates more energy than any other planet except for the Sun.  Mythological Jupiter was the King of the Gods.  With these bigger than life qualities, Jupiter’s role is to expand our sense of what is possible in our ordinary lives by removing fears and limitations and instilling faith and trust in the Universe.  Jupiter is associated with the mental constructs that we develop which give our life a sense of meaning, such as religious or political philosophies, and […]

Mars is back, with Mercury Rx! Practical advice for stressful times.

Since last December Mars, currently traveling through Libra, has been tied to the intense Uranus/Pluto dynamic.  (If this is new to you, please read this section in the sidebar.)  Uranus and Pluto have been in this dramatic dance since 2011-2012, shattering paradigms and breaking down old patterns to be rebuilt from the ground up. Mars is a faster moving planet so its effect usually doesn’t last very long, but in its role as instigator it does tend to trigger the larger cycles into action when they have remained dormant.  Mars aligned in […]

Sunday inspiration: Jupiter trine Saturn

This week marks the final phase of the trine formation between Jupiter and Saturn that began in July 2013, peaked in December 2013, and is now waning and will soon disappear. Throughout most of 2013 Jupiter (in Cancer) and Saturn (in Scorpio) were part of a Grand Trine in water planets that included Neptune in Pisces.  The trine formation looks like a big triangle and is considered one of the softer aspects which provide support and harmony, something which has been much needed in the midst of the stressful pressures of […]

In which Mars changes course and healing is possible

Mars has been traveling retrograde since March 1st, and on the 17th it will change direction again.  Planets don’t really orbit backwards, but astrologers observe the motion of the planets from our perspective on earth and watch as they periodically APPEAR to move backwards.  A retrograde planet works underground, causing us to look backwards and repair the past – retrogrades offer us a Mulligan – a do-over if you will. Mars will turn direct on May 19th, and for the past week or two it has been at a virtual […]

May Planetary Illuminations are posted

I’ve posted the planetary forecast for May and you can read it here in its entirety.  If you are on my mailing list you will receive your newsletter with an abridged translation that is easy to understand.  If you’re NOT on free my mailing list, please sign up in the sidebar. Here is the introduction for this month including the major planetary events: After the intensity of the April Grand Cross, in which the aggressive force of Mars bumped up against Uranus and Pluto, and expansive and optimistic Jupiter opened […]

Grand Cross News Roundup

The planets have calmed down now, with Mercury moving into grounded Taurus and the Taurus New Moon tomorrow.  But the past few weeks have been a doozy. I counted five stabbings in US high schools: Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Houston, Utah, Fort Lauderdale. Tornadoes whipped through central and southern US states with several different outbreaks over the weekend with more coming today. Mars (rage, impulsive behavior) setting off Uranus (recklessness, surprise) and Pluto (death and destruction) created havoc and an increase in accidents: In Saudi Arabia there were the highest number of […]

Who will care for the poor in the Aquarian Age?

mankind

No one can really tell when the Age of Aquarius begins.  This is a 2160 year cycle, and it doesn’t begin or end on a particular date.  But I believe that we are in the transition period between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius. The spread of Christianity dominated the Age of Pisces, and while there have been some horrific consequences as a result (think the brutality of the Crusades, the annihilation of Native Americans and other indigenous groups, etc.) it has primarily been Christian and other […]

Astrology today: Grand Cross update, April 21 2014

grand-cross

In April, a big lineup of planets in cardinal signs of action have created stress and tension with opportunities for release and transformation.  Transformation is not always easy, and the tension of the grand cross can bring conflict and crisis.  Sometimes the intensity is more than certain individuals can bear, and we see this play out in the news. Mars, planet of aggression, has been traveling retrograde where it is dredging up old resentments and because it is traveling so slowly, its influence is stronger and lasts for a longer […]

Mars in the news: The Opposition and Blood Moon

Astrological Mars is retrograde right now and moving much more slowly than it normally does (from our perspective on earth).  Consequently, its impact is more intense with a heightened feeling of aggression and inspiration towards action.  Mercury entered Mars’s own sign of Aries yesterday which adds additional fire to the mix and adding excitement and perhaps a few arguments to interpersonal communication everywhere. Mars of course is instrumental in the upcoming Grand Cross of planets in the cardinal signs of Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn, so this barrage of intensity […]
